Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians:

Spring is here and hopefully the winter weather is finally coming to an end. It’s hard to believe that we are counting down the final three months of school. This year report cards will be sent home on Thursday, April 5th. Parent/teacher conferences will be held on April 19th from 6:00—8:00 p.m. and on April 20th from 9:00—11:00 a.m. Additional information about parent/teacher conferences will be sent home later on this month.

Our Grade 8 class trip plans have begun. Parents/Guardians are reminded that the second deposit on the trip is due on April 5th. The next and final payment is due on May 3rd. The balance owing (if any, after fundraising is calculated) will be due on May 31st. We had a fundraising parent meeting on April 3rd here at the school that was very well attended. Our first fundraiser is a bottle drive to be held on Saturday, April 14th. Your participation in this event will be much appreciated.

The installation of the new Gym floor has been completed and our students are now able to be in the Gym once again. The floor looks spectacular. The one major change is that no one is permitted in the Gym with outdoor footwear.

The Celtic Family of Schools offices have now completely moved in to the old section of the building. They are using the Caroline Street entrance and parking area. TMS students and staff are continuing to use the Dickie Street entrance and we have the same play spaces for our students. There will be fencing installed along Caroline Street in order to ensure the safety of our students.

For your information, the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board has officially been re-named the Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education. Our Superintendent of Schools, Gary Adams has changed his title as well. He will now be Regional Executive Director of Education.

Our Student of the Month theme for the month of April is “Love”. To know peace is to know Love. Love must be unconditional. When people are weak they need Love the most. Look within yourself for Love.

As always, please contact the school with any questions or concerns that you may have.

Shaun MacDonald, Principal
